Flaming Lips: un ejemplo de apertura de miras

Hace un par de meses se desvelaron algunos detalles sobre el disco que Flaming Lips preparaban para el Record Store Day (21 de abril). En aquel momento ya se confirmaron algunos colaboradores en el mismo, semanas después unos cuantos más y ahora por fin se ha cerrado la lista. El resultado marea: Bon Iver, Erykah Badu, Nick Cave, Yoko Ono, Neon Indian, Ke$ha, Prefuse 73, Tame Impala, Jim James de My Morning Jacket, Lightning Bolt, Biz Markie, New Fumes, Chris Martin de Coldplay y Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. Resulta admirable la falta de prejuicios de Coyne y sus chicos, algo que, como ya hemos comentado millones de veces, en musikorner somos fans absolutos. ¿Por qué no mezclar a Ke&ha y a Tame Impala en el mismo disco? ¡Claro que sí! Y aparte de mezclar a artistas indies con comerciales, también escogen referentes de diferentes géneros y estilos que llevan a su terreno pero sin coartar la esencia de cada uno. Chapó.

El álbum aparecerá en un doble LP (del que debajo tenéis el tracklist) y llevará como título The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends. A ver si alguno de los temas lo interpretan en el SOS 4.8 (aunque sea sin la ayuda de sus amigos).
